Biography

ヴァン・モリソンは、音楽界の真のオリジナルであり、過去70年にわたる遺産を持つ、ユニークでインスピレーションに溢れた人物だ。1945年にベルファストで生まれ、ブルース、カントリー、ゴスペルに影響を受け、1964年にR&BバンドThemを結成して大成功した後、ソロ・アーティストとして更なる領域へと歩みを進めた。この時代の最も多作なレコーディング・アーティストであり、最も勤勉なライブ・パフォーマーでもあるヴァン・モリソンは、ストリート・ポエトリー、ジャズ、スウィング、スキッフル、ケルト・ルーツなど、彼が影響を受けた無数の楽曲をこともなげに消化し、20世紀で最も愛された楽曲を含む比類のないカタログを作り上げ、また、ステージでもスタジオでも、若いアーティストが恥ずかしくなるような仕事ぶりを維持している。
